Jordan Henderson has praised “brilliant” Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool forward extended his lead as the Premier League’s top goalscorer.
Salah netted his 30th league goal of the season against Bournemouth – and 40th in all competitions – to help Liverpool to a 3-0 win on Saturday.
The Egyptian is now five goals ahead of Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot, after the Tottenham striker failed to even register a single shot against Manchester City.
Kane’s tally was boosted to 25 after he successfully appealed a goal against Stoke City last week, which was awarded to Christian Eriksen but Kane was adamant he got a touch to the Dane’s cross.
Henderson took the opportunity to aim a dig at his international teammate in favour of his club one.
“Yeah, he [Salah] told me he’s going to claim all of them!” Henderson told BT Sport.
“He’s been brilliant, fantastic. He’s just got to keep it going, with his work rate, his movement off the ball, how strong he is.
“He’s a big player for us, so hopefully he can keep scoring.”
