Tottenham are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan.
Guardiola described Dembele as a “huge talent” after he was excellent even as Manchester City beat his Tottenham side 3-1.
The midfielder’s contract expires next summer and he has made it clear that he will not open talks about a new deal until after the World Cup, when he could be an attractive prospect to several clubs across Europe.
Dembele has made 26 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, though some critics point to a record of zero Premier League goals or assists in those 26 games.
City are certainly in the market for new central midfielders this summer. They are also in the market for a new centre-half and are likely to be interested in Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
It’s gonna be an interesting summer. Tottenham & Mousa Dembéle put contract negotiations on hold last summer, because the player wanted to see how he coped physically. He’s happy at Spurs and has 1 year left. How much will they invest in a 31y old (with an injury record)? #thfc pic.twitter.com/DTjqVNniqt
